WHAT IS HAPPENING
11th September 2020
The Rule of 6 and dance classes
In England, from Monday 14 September, you must not meet with people from other households socially in groups of more than 6. From Monday, this limit will be enforceable in law.
This change seeks to simplify and clarify the rules on social gatherings, so they are easier to understand and easier for the police to enforce.
There are exemptions to this. Education and work settings are unaffected, and sports, gym and leisure are exempt. As long as dance studios and classes are following other COVID-safe guidance (particularly social distancing) they are exempt from the rule of 6.
Specific guidance for grassroots sports, gyms and leisure (where dance classes are included) can be found https://www.gov.uk/guidance/working-safely-during-coronavirus-covid-19/providers-of-grassroots-sport-and-gym-leisure-facilities.
Test and Trace: We must keep a temporary record of our customers and visitors for 21 days, in a way that is manageable for our business. Collecting sufficient data on each attendee (name, home phone number, mobile number, date of attendance of class) so that each person could be contacted if there is a case of COVID-19 connected to any of our facilities.
